So what makes our new top swing so different?
Top swing windows have historically always had deep frame sightlines, which subsequently affects the solar gain (i.e more frame equals less solar gain). Every millimetre in frame sightline reduction will assist in achieving better WER’s. Through careful and considered design, WHS Halo’s technical team have reduced System10 frame sightlines, without affecting the structural integrity of the product.
This gives rise to lower U-values and in turn, more A-rated frames.
When you consider this fact in conjunction with the list of unique product features associated with the System10 top swing, it is clear that WHS Halo should be top of your list for upcoming top swing installations.
WHS Halo has created a 'Top swing WER indicator' - a spreadsheet that will aid you in calculating WER values for over 200 top swing window variations, including 34 'A' rated windows. Simply complete the form opposite and a link to the spreadsheet will be emailed on to you.
Tilt and Turn and Saddle Pivot windows, are also traditionally aimed at refurbishment projects where there is a high rise element, and a requirement for cleaning to be carried out safely from the inside of the building.
In Scotland, these windows are used traditionally as the mainstay of window design rather than the casement type which is used throughout the remainder of the UK.
Tilt and Turn and Saddle Pivot windows offer similar features, notably the fact that they open inwards, which is very distinct from traditional casement windows, and have found favour with many architects and clients who have projects for which an open out window is not suitable.
