WHS Halo's parent company, Bowater Building Products has won a prestigious Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice for our innovative energy efficient window. The energy efficient window design uses a patented thermal insert (made from recycled material), which is inserted into the outerframe of a window to deliver affordable A-rated windows that save energy and carbon.The awards are organised by The Green Organisation who are an independent environment group dedicated to promoting the positive side of environmental endeavour. In addition to winning this award, we have also been named as a National Green Hero, which means that our energy efficient window will be showcased around the world as an example of environmental best practice.
The award will be presented to us on 17th November, at the House of Commons and as a Green Apple Award winner, we have also been nominated to represent the UK on the international stage at the European Business Awards for the Environment.
This is an excellent achievement for the company, as no one in the Industry has ever won a Green Apple Award. It recognises the huge investment we are making in developing low energy, low carbon solutions for our customers and gives a well deserved recognition for our Technical Department lead by Robert Hoellrigl.
